Dissidia, Final Fantasy & You

I've been curious about this as I've heard others' stories how they got into the game. Was surprised to hear that some people didn't play any Final Fantasy games before Dissidia — I thought that because DFF is a pretty hardcore fanservice game and it doesn't seem to offer much otherwise. Although, apparently, the genre was so unexplored and interesting that the game still attracted crowd outside of FF fandom.

I remember I went in because Final Fantasy is cool and having a fighter on my PSP is cool, and it ended up getting me interested in playing more games in the series in the process. Probably wouldn't have ever played II, IV, or IX if I hadn't picked up Dissidia.
